Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are now open and can close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home which has a combined gross household income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic earnings would not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from nsfas application homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or plan to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET click here colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should here apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
